A Straw Dogs remake?? Hmm. I’m skeptical but it looks ok. And probably many people have never heard of Sam Peckinpah’s original, which is worth seeing. It’s actually pretty tranquil if unsettling, in that 1970s taking-its-time way, until the final third. Then it gets violent but it’s more about the descent into violence on a primal level, and is actually never gratuitous.
