I’m happy to announce my new book, created with my young daughter in mind.
Photo Stories is a unique concept, photo ‘fairy tales’ for children (4+) as well as adults.
The book is comprised of fifteen ‘photo stories’ - each a single, documentary, black-and-white photograph, with an accompanying short story that combines the real-life backstory of the image with a healthy dose of imagination, spun into a lyrical, child-friendly narrative.
It’s a compact coffee-table book, perfect for reading aloud while a child studies the images.
A play on traditional photojournalistic formats and expectations. An attempt to bring documentary photography to new audiences. An experiment in bringing art and world awareness to young people in new ways.
Limited edition, available only until the end of January 2011.
